When you are either sick or disabled, income protection
and continuation is vital for you and your family's continued financial
health. NAUTICASOFT offers two benefit plans to help protect your
financial income when you are unable to work.
Short Term Disability
If an employee is absent for more than five days due to medical
reasons, such as an extended illness or a maternity leave, they
may be eligible to receive between 60% and 100% of normal pay during
the absence. The employee's benefit varies, based on their employment
status (hourly or salary) and length of service with NAUTICASOFT.
Long Term Disability
If an absence from work lasts more than 26 weeks, employees may
be eligible to participate in NAUTICASOFT' Long Term Disability
(LTD) Plan. Employees may purchase income protection through a supplemental
LTD election. |

All full-time employees who are regularly scheduled
to work 40 hours or more a week are eligible for vacation pay.
Eligibility for vacation time is based on the calendar year and
how long they have worked for NAUTICASOFT.
Because NAUTICASOFT is a service company, holidays at specific
offices may vary. NAUTICASOFT employees can check with their
leader for their holiday schedule. All salaried employees are
eligible for holiday pay depending on their length of the service with Nauticasoft.

Leaders at NAUTICASOFT are able to make decisions necessary
to ensure their employees meet and exceed the needs of NAUTICASOFT'
clients and business, while addressing their employees' personal and
family needs as well. We call it "manager's discretion."
The effectiveness of such work/family-based decisions is seen in all
sorts of real-life scenarios, such as:
The business analyst who works at home answering customer service
calls.
The information analyst who works flexible hours to care for an
aging relative.
The technical writing team with alternating four-day work weeks.
The programmer at home in Dublin supporting the client in London.
The dad taking two hours off in the middle of the day to go watch
his daughter's soccer game.
And the single parent who needs to stay home with a sick child.
NAUTICASOFT is a company of individual needs as unique as each NAUTICASOFT
employee. Our work/family programs provide tools to meet those needs.
And our leaders are the ones equipped to put those tools to their
most effective use.
Another example is our flexible work hours. There is no "basic
work week" at NAUTICASOFT. Specific hours are established at
each location, based on business needs and client considerations.
Many locations have alternative work arrangements with employees,
allowing such work scenarios as:
- Full and part-time telecommuting
- Job sharing
- Four-day work weeks
- Part-time work
- Flexible working hours
- Employees are allowed to alter their work day for important
family events, such as consultations with teachers and school
activities, in addition to other matters such as medical or dental
appointments provided they have the permission from their clients.

Also known as flexible spending accounts, the NAUTICASOFT
Dependent Care Reimbursement Account and the Health Care Reimbursement
Account allow employees the opportunity to set aside money to pay
for certain eligible dependent care and health care-related expenses.
Not only do they help employees financially plan for these expenses,
the contributions are taken out of their pay before income taxes
are withheld. Therefore, you're paying for these expenses with
tax-free dollars. |
